Don't just love what I am doing...support what I am doing

Well today I made a video with Livvy (and the help of my best friend, Isaac).  Here it is if you want to see it.  It is about the hospital project.  We called it Gabe The Cake Man Has A Plan.  I hope it helps you decide to donate. :)

Also, the article about our project came out in the Southeast Outlook today.  You can read it online by clicking here.  I made a Sponge Bob cake for a little boy and he came over to get it today.  He was pretty cute.  I love it when people like the cake I made for them!

Hitting 4% in the Hospital Building Fundraiser

On Sunday, October 27, 2013 my sister and I went to The Refuge in Mt. Washington, KY so that we could tell them about our vision to build a clinic.  Even though the teens did not have much, they donated $235!  This was actually very amazing.  Some of the teenagers had been in car accidents and one of them gave us $20 and that was all that he had!  I think that is very amazing because he had been in a car accident so this was all he had but he gave all he had to people that have nothing at all!

I thought that the public speaking was going to be horrible.  It turns out that I lived through it!  What I liked most was the end - not just because it was over (I did like that it was over but there is a better part).  It was great because afterwards people came up to me and told me that this was helping their faith!  One guy said that he wants to go to start clinics and hospitals and he was thinking about changing his major from pre-medical classes to something else.  Then after he heard our speech he decided that God was telling him to not switch majors.  This kind of reminded me of Jonah and the Whale.  Who knows, maybe he will go work at this hospital when he is all finished with school!  He said that he doesn't really want to work at a missions hospital but he thinks God really wants him to do it and so he is going to stick with it so he is saying, "yes" to God!  It is so cool how it all works out!  I went there to see if they would help me...but in the end, this sort-of helped them!  I didn't expect that it was going to go like that!

Thanks to The Refuge and another anonymous person, we are at 4%!  I have to make a Sponge Bob cake for Halloween and some Kaluha Mousse for a couple of people so hopefully I can soon say we are at 5%!  Oh yeah, Livvy and I did dog sitting this weekend and I am hoping that gives us some more money to add to the total too.  We decided that making cookies is a lot easier than dog sitting!  But it was a nice dog and we took her on walks so that was ok.

Help Me Raise Funds To Build A Clinic

About a week ago a "Samaritans Purse" catalog came in the mail. My mom asked me if I wanted to use my tithe money to get something in it. When I said, "yes" we looked and found something affordable that my little sister, Livvy and I could get. We found 1 chicken. I asked her if I could ask my family if they would like to help us get something a little bit more helpful and longer lasting. We found a goat for $70.00; however, my family said that they had already tithed their money so I would have to wait. I went on to some other family members like my cousin, Jessica. She said that in about 2 weeks she would have some money and with the help from her and my sister, we got the goat! I was not really that satisfied with that because it was not a challenge and didn't take much faith.

I looked back into the catalog and found something a little bit more expensive and helpful...medical supplies for $150. It said in the description that it would help pay for a baby incubator or an IV pump. I decided to do a cake auction (sort-of) and sale to help raise the money! I have now put up some pictures on my facebook page (Gabe The Cake Man) with the three things that I will make and I am hoping that people will be super generous in donating if I make them one of these options.

So now I have thought that the $150 dollars was a little bit cheaper than what I might be able to handle, so I have looked again and saw a water purifier and pump for $10,000!! I realized that it was God who is telling me I can collect more than what I think I can, so I went a little bit higher (actually a lot higher)  I talked to my friends at the Lego Robotics club I am in and they all agree.   I'm now saving for a missions hospital ($35,000.00) and Samaritan's Purse would build it in Africa. It will be equipped with MANY baby incubators and IV pumps, so if anybody would like to have a cake for a donation, (or just plain donate ;) ) then I could use all the help I can get.  I really think that we could all do this together!

PS: please be generous with donations :) (you can contact me through my facebook page)
